Hello and welcome to Alannah House, a family run bed and breakfast in the centre of the historic walled town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

We have been included in the Mother and Baby Magazine's "Baby-friendly Places to stay in Britain", as voted for by their readers.

A Georgian house originally built as officers' married quarters for the nearby barracks, Alannah House is close to all local amenities and makes an ideal base for exploring North Northumberland and the Scottish Borders.

Accomodation is of a high standard, receiving an English Tourist Board rating of 4 stars (silver award). All rooms are en-suite with Digital TV, tea/coffee making facilities, and irons/ironing boards.

Guests within Alannah House are welcome to make the most of the large and private walled gardens, which come complete with a summer house and patio, perfect for enjoying some peace and quiet during the good weather. Secure cycle storage is also available on site. A full English breakfast is included for all guests and represents the ideal way to start each day's activities in Northumberland.

There is no shortage of things to do in Berwick and the surrounds, from the attractions of town itself which displays all the visible remnants of a rich and often turbulent history between Scotland and England, to the great many outdoor activities associated with the open countryside of the region and its wonderful coastline.

Opportunities for walking, golf, cycling and fishing are all to be found nearby as is a full range of water sports and other coast and sea related activities. Enjoy the best of the area from a base which offers the best in accommodation, Alannah House.
